Exposed to Chlordane for first 10 years of life

I have a question.... not looking for medical advice, but some direction.

I've been suffering from immune system related illnesses for the past 20 years, ranging from shingles, CFS (with all syptoms: rashes, IBS, nausea, fevers, etc.), asthma, angioedema, Graves Disease, and recently diagnosed w/myasthenia gravis.... in addition to having anemia.

My GP recently asked if I could have possibly come in contact with some chemicals when I was young because, at 35... I'm starting to rack up the illnesses pretty quickly!

I just checked w/my parents... and my dad began using chlordane in 1968 (when I was just 1) until about 1978.  He used to spray for ants all around the perimeter of the house.  My mom says she recalls the heavy odor.   Once he stopped spraying... she did have a small garden along the side of our home with tomatoes, mint and a few other edible items.

My question is... do problems with toxic chemicals continue and manifest later in life even after exposure???   I've always felt that there is some link to my illnesses and that it has something to do with my immune system.   Should I check this out further or are the chances unlikely.... and if I should pursue, what kind of Doctor would I see???

My GP is great but I don't think he'd be equipped to pursue something like this?

Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated.
