Delta Dust--the world's only odorless and water-insoluble pesticide--has the consistency of talcum powder.  With $14 anyone can buy a pound on the Internet and eliminate fire ants, roaches--maybe even people.

The State of Kentucky has fined the pesticide compnay that missapplied the deltamethrin pesticde in the residence of John and Virginia Greenman in August 1998.  Neither the landlady nor the company every notifed the legally-blind, middle-aged couple of the application of pesticides.  At least one pound was applied inside the furnace and clothes dryer--enough to treat an entire football field.  Most of the houseplants died suddenly and the cat lost its voice.

Their exposure lasted a minimum of one  month.  Four months after the initial application of deltamethrin, a physician determined that Virginia's blood still contained 180 parts of deltamethrin per million, and the State found 200 parts of deltamethrin in the house.

Today their medical problems persist.  Virginia has severe episodic headaches, dizziness, chronic and severe fatigue, severe gas pains, diarrhea, swelling of the body trunk, and skin irritation.  Her colostomy and colon tumor may be attributed to the chemical, as her health and family history of health were good prior to the exposure.

John has suffered damage to the larynx.

Although deltamethrin is identified as a neurotoxin and an immunosuppressant, we find no information on the effects of long-term household exposure.

Medical bills are well over $100,000 and cleaning the residence cost over $20,000.
