On or about Wednesday 08/09/00, our yard was treated accidentally with something being called Southern Triplet 33612.
This was done by a Lawn Care Service who had mistaken our home for their costumers. Thursday morning our children all started running high temperatures (102.5 or better ), which now come & go. There has also been vomiting, sore throats, coughing, headaches, etc., just all around feeling drained. Just like your article said, it was mistaken for the flu & dismissed. Today I found a warning flag at the end of my yard from this company which read, " Caution Pesticide Application, Keep Off " followed by the statement of "for one day." Yes, the kids were all out in the yard that day playing & barefoot to boot.
I called this company to see exactly what this pesticide was. The secretary showed much concern asking, "How sick are your children?" When I told her the symptoms of the children she replied with , "Oh my God, hold please." She returned to tell me that I should take my children to the hospital for blood test to see if any chemicals were present. My reply was, "Blood test for what?" "What chemicals?" "What's in my yard?" "You weren't even supposed to do this yard, what the hell have you put in it?" I was again put on hold. A man came back saying, there was no need for concern, his people work around this all the time & have had no problems. Just like your article said they would. They finally gave us the name of the pesticide used, after many threats of a lawsuit for it being put in our yard to begin with.
We then contacted the Poison Control for our area. They knew nothing of this chemical/chemical mixture they called Southern Triplet 33612. They advised us to contact the Georgia State Agricultural Department were they also knew nothing of this chemical & are now coming to take samples of our yard to study the effects of it. This is a very scary moment in a parents life. What is it? What does it do? Is it causing problems? Are my babies okay? The scariest part is knowing that no one else seems to know the answers either. I was then told by the owner of the company who had done the accidental treatment to our yard that the chemical was new to them. Then in the same breath, told that his people have been using it for years without any problems. "Get your story straight buddy," was my first thought & then I thought "Oh my God, what are they not telling me."
I found this site & read your reports on lawn pesticide. Then the heartbeat went up a hundred beats a minute & I had to write. I'm hoping that maybe you might know of any testing done on this product or at least have heard of it. Any information you have on this Southern Triplet 33612, I feel we need to know. My children & the adults in the house are still sick with different symptoms. Many of which were on your list. It could be nothing but, then again it does seem odd to me that it was everyone at once & right after the yard was done.
Thank you for having this information on the net for families to read & thank you for allowing these questions to come your way for possible answers. Trying to get answers to exactly what this is & what it does or doesn't do, much less if there are long term effects has been like pulling teeth.
Thanks again,
Donald Price & family

Contact Dr Laseter at AccuChem. 972 234 5412. If anyone knows, he will. Read my books- 1 800 78 78 78 0 about the chemicals and your child's World. We are all in danger. The more you know the more you can protect those you love.

This is certainly a tragedy, that may or not be a catastrophe. I would contact the EPA to see if they have any info. on this specific chemical. Mr. Price needs to demand the MSDsheets for the compound. This is probably an organophosphate. The chemical itself will probably be out of the body by now. The damage already done. It is important to limit that damage.
There are some things that can be done. I notice that Mr. Price lives in GA. I have a friend in Atlanta that might be able to help him. His name is Mitch Ghen, D. O. I do not know is phone number. Mitch does some interesting alternative treatments including chelation.
It is important to keep the intestine clear and liver functioning.
Remember these are children. They tend to be tougher than us AK's. The liver is meant to filter, and not everybody who gets exposed to chemicals suffers permanent damage.
That said, There is a law firm in at Atlanta that I would encourage Mr. Price to contact. The senior partner is Sherrod Taylor. If there are long-term consequences to this exposure they will probably be slow in developing, especially in small children.
God Bless, Steve
