County sprays Malathion... Child nearly dies
TopBoth of my children were "fogged" by our county mosquito control truck (using malathion) ...both were sick within 12 hrs...the oldest, who didn't get the brunt of the spraying, ended up in our ER with acute exacerbation of asthma. The youngest, who did get the majority of the spray ended up on life-support for 3 days and was hospitalized for a total of 6... When he first became ill it was with terrible coughing, red eyes, chest pain, n/v....and progressed to respiratory distress. He was flown out by Lifeflight to Hermann Hospital from our local community hospital.... Poison control agrees with the county...that if it was a result of organophosphate poisoning all of this would have unfolded in a matter of two hours. I think they are completely in denial and not taking responsibility for the poison that they are spraying in our communities. What do you think? A child who is the picture of health one minute ends up next to death the next and everything viral and bacterial has been ruled out. Common sense tells me that it had to be the malathion. I have read about how malathion, when stored at high temperatures, is prone to developing highly toxic substances that are worse than the malathion itself. Is this accurate? I have a lot of questions for our mosquito control people down here. Namely, do you store this crap at proper temperatures, etc....But they don't want to talk to me (surprise, surprise)....
