Wife of Pest Control Tech poisoned husband in denial

Hello, My name is Cathy and I am married to a pest control service tech.

When I met him in 86 he didn't do this type of work.  In 1990 he began his pest control job.  after 4 years he and two others bought the company that they worked for.

They were using Dursban.. A BUNCH

I became sick with many chemical sensitivity allergies.  I didn't know why!  I complained about the laundry and how the chemical would burn my arms and hands when I would pick up the clothes to put in the washer.

He smelled every night with the odor of Dursban.

they have quit using that product but they now use a product called Suspend sc

Delta Dust etc.. he claims that it is safe.

Now this isn't the man I married. he has many of the symptoms listed in your warning map.  http://www.safe2use.com/data/symptoms.htm

I told him I was going to look up these products to find out how safe they are.

HE IS WRONG.

the products just don't have a smell

I am now chemically intolerant!

He is crabby and worn out looking.  His skin is always red and his eyes burn and he gets big time headaches.

He is very short tempered with me almost to the point where I hate him.

I know it is these products he is using.

They don't use the proper protection either.

I begged him to get the company to do a toxic level test on them.. but he ignores me.

Do you have any kind of information I could use to better inform me of what this chemical potential has in store for me and my husband.

I love him so much but he isn't the man I have known for years!

thank you for your time

Sincerely

Cathy Hildreth

ps  it is very difficult to find information on this subject

Cathy,

Here's another case of Delta Dust poisoning:  http://www.getipm.com/articles/letters/delta-dust.htm

We have been begging and pleading with individuals like your husband for years to look at what is going on.

Unfortunately, when someone is making their living from applying these poisons it is difficult to impossible to see past that fact.

You can find out more information at;  http://www.pesticideinfo.org/

Until he wakes up to what is going on, there is little you can do except consider ways to lessen your own poisoning.

  thanks for the info

from what I have found out.. well, let's just say I am going to call my insurance guy and raise the amount of my husbands death benefits.

I have been sleeping separate rooms for over 5 years or better.  I am allergic to him.

I can't take any kind of chemicals considering he won't go to the doctor and no one cares really... hey he is either going to end up with some brain disease.

I am doing hospice for a woman who is dying of Shy-Drager Syndrome.

she is only 65 but is bed ridden and can only use barely one arm and hand.

I looked up her problem and then when looking up this pest control junk... I found an interesting connection to her very rare illness.

She raised sheep.  She had them sheared and she spun the yarn.  Her illness is very similar to Parkinson's - she has the mask face and her legs are stiff.

it is very sad

but I wonder if the Sheep Dip and her handling the wool.....?  just a thought I would like to tell her..

thanks again

and I am keeping far away from that man of mine.

:-)

Cathy

Cathy,

There are a lot of people that work with sheep that are suffering because of the "sheep dip" which is another OP pesticide.

Protect yourself and we're so sorry to hear that your husband will not.

Linda

One other question.  Would you like to be included on this page:

     http://www.getipm.com/our-loved-ones/injured.htm

Maybe it will help save another wife of a pest control person.

     Linda

yes,

and there is no talking to my husband.  He flipped yesterday when i tried to get him to go get a physical.

I wonder if I can sue the company for the dursban and my illness?  or can that be proven?

if so it would be a fair and just thing as my ability to earn a living has stopped.

I was a hairstylist and all that ended when I became chemically sick.

yes, please share my story.

thanks for your reply and compassion

Cathy Hildreth
