JAMES F, PIETSZAK, DEERFIELD BCH FL, 1990 INCIDENT.

Truly Nolan applied Dursban T C, at my condominium building which had An underbuilding parking garage.   Five holes were drilled through from Overhead with-out any knowledge of where the pressurized organic Phosphorus, sub liquid form, was being pumped.  The lower garage Received over 55 gallons.

The garage door, which was facing west, had caused the interior to heat to approx. 110 degrees, causing a vapor.  Since the application had taken Place early in the morning, the chemical had all day to vaporize. I returned home at approx. 9:00 pm and drove my car into the garage, Which was a three-car end on end arrangement. I proceeded to unload my Trunk and my wife and myself were overcome and blacked out. I was in a Poor state when I found myself lying on the ground just outside the Garage door and my wife was vomiting as was I. We did not know what had Happened to us. We were so sick, sweating profusely, drooling from mouth With involuntary muscle jerking of arms, neck and body.  We had extreme Burning of the skin and the perspiration made it worse.  We contacted The association of the condo and they admitted to the Truly Nolan Application without being posted.

Early in the morning I was still very sick.  I lost movement of my left Arm. I contacted Truly Nolan and was told to go and breathe fresh air. I asked them to contact the company that made the chemical (Dow) which They did, and called me back and told me to go immediately to the Hospital emergency and check all vital signs. My signs were non-existent.  I was barely there. They did not know how to treat me so I was kept in for observation and then released.

The time that passed was not pleasant after that experience. I lost approx. 35 lbs within a month, my speech was slurred, short term Memory was gone, handwriting was illegible, and perspiration burned my skin, My hair became dry and brittle, I became sensitive to all kinds of Chemicals like petroleum products.  I couldn't lift my arms past my Shoulders and I became impotent.  I was not able to work. My wife and I Divorced due to stress.   I lost my property and thought I was condemned to hell. I was represented in the courts in Florida for six years but Barely received my medical expenses.

The state of Florida controls the companies which do chemical Application.  I think it is a brotherhood.

There are variable factors involving sub-terrain termite treatment which I found out.  People get a yearly contract and if a termite is Found, the company sprays an isolated area. The fact that sub-terrainian termites only come out of the ground once or twice a year is not told. I am disappointed with the state of Florida, the judical system, and of course the chemical and extermination companys.

I have fought very hard to regain my health with nutritional supplements And diet and positive outlook.  I have regained weight, mobility and mental capacity.  The knowledge that this chemical remains in my body is very disturbing.  I do not know the long-term effects of this chemical.  I have had to work very hard for financial recourses to sustain myself because of my losses through this ordeal.
 

P.S.  THE PESTICIDE COMPANY WAS CITED AND FINED FOR MISAPPLICATION OF A CHEMICAL.
